Previews By: Giorgio Verzotti Translated from Italian by Marguerite Shore STEFANO ARIENTI, FONDAZIONE BEVILACQUA LA MASA/ TEATRO LA FENICE, July 27- September 30, Curated by Francesca Pasini. Every year, the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa organizes an exhibition in collaboration with Teatro La Fenice, charging the chosen artist with both a solo show and the creation of a work for the curtain of the famed Venetian opera house. This year, Stefano Arienti takes a turn with a presentation of all-new works at the BLM's Palazzetto Tito, while his hall-size commission sets a majestic stage for Swiss choreographer Foofwa d'Imobilité. Arienti is known for his deft handling of simple objects carpets, drawings, pieces of marble, books-and he will employ such materials here, paneling the walls of one Palazzetto gallery with a global selection of music CDs and, the evening of the curtain's premiere, presenting Fenice with a guestbook bound with alternating marked and blank pages, to conjoin comments by the spectators with drawings of his own.
