To ensure the safety and well-being of our staff, artists, visitors, and the public, Lehmann Maupin will temporarily close our New York galleries effective immediately, Friday, March 13. This decision was made in response to the public health crisis around Coronavirus (COVID-19) and follows recommendations from the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, and New York state and local governments.
During this time, our New York galleries will be open by appointment only, subject to safety and travel restrictions.
Gallery operations will continue through remote working. Appointments to view our New York exhibitions by Lari Pittman and Billy Childish can be arranged by contacting the gallery at firstname.lastname@example.org. The entire staff will remain available by phone and/or email. Staff contact information can be located here.
During this closure, we encourage you to follow Lehmann Maupin online. We will be enhancing digital viewing of our current exhibitions. To stay up-to-date, connect with us on Instagram and visit our website to learn more about current and upcoming exhibitions, and for updates to our public opening hours.
Our Seoul and Hong Kong galleries will remain open during regular public hours and the gallery’s exhibitions will proceed as planned:
As a part of the New York art community for nearly 25 years, we have witnessed and persevered through difficult and challenging times before. We believe in the resiliency of our gallery, our artists, and our wider community, and in the power of art to transcend moments like these.
We will continue to evaluate the situation as it develops and respond accordingly. We look forward to re-opening Lehmann Maupin’s doors soon and welcoming you. Until then, we wish for the health and safety of our international community at this exceptional time.
Rachel, David, and the entire Lehmann Maupin team
