Description

On the occasion of her retrospective exhibition at the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Cecilia Vicuña led Staircase Living Quipu, a performance with museum staff and friends of the artist. Vicuña’s quipu performances often involve swaths of unspun wool that are used to connect participants and refer to the traditional Andean method of visual communication and record-keeping involving the knotting of colored strings.
