Lehmann Maupin is seeking a highly detail-oriented individual to join the gallery’s Finance Department. The Finance Associate plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate P&L recognition and reporting across the revenue cycle. They will own reporting commissions to our artists on a timely basis and ensure that the financial information in our systems reflects the underlying contractual agreements. The individual will also play a part in P&L oversight, helping ensure that revenue and cost recognition is correct as well as contribute to the maintenance of sales analysis. 

Responsibilities
Generate global artist commission statements in line with underlying terms and sales information
Ensure accurate information is maintained across multiple financial systems
Maintain and improve sales reporting across all global locations
Identify and drive process improvements, primarily relating to Artist and Sales reporting
Ensure payments made are accurately reflected in the ledger and artist statements
Partner with the sales and operations functions to ensure necessary information is being shared and financial guidelines followed
Input and analyze financial data and create financial reporting for decision support
Support the finance team on current priorities as needed e.g. invoicing support, month end 

Qualifications and Requirements
Comfortable with ambiguity and using innate problem-solving skills to complete the task at hand
A meticulous approach to reporting and an ability to sense check the numbers
A self-starter who wants to help improve the ways of working of a finance function
An interest in understanding the art business and looking for future growth at a gallery 
The ability to communicate effectively in both written & verbal form with finance and non-finance staff
The ability to prioritize tasks in a fluid and fast-paced environment while maintaining good attention to detail
Comfortable with extracting and transforming data from multiple sources
2+ years of relevant experience in a finance function in a private setting
Bachelor’s Degree and/or a professional qualification in accounting, business or finance
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Suite, and able to learn proprietary art databases; experience with Quickbooks a plus

Salary: $80,000–$110,000
