Lehmann Maupin Plans Singapore Pop-Up Gallery By Dan Duray
Early next year New York gallery Lehmann Maupin will launch a pop-up exhibition at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute that will coincide with their participation in the 2012 Art Stage Singapore art fair.
“Lehmann Maupin Gallery at STPI” will feature the work of gallery artists Teresita Fernández, Do Ho Suh and Ashley Bickerton, all of whom have completed residencies at STPI, along with Lee Bul, who will soon begin one. The exhibition will run from Jan. 11 through Feb. 11 of next year.
The gallery’s last international pop-up was in Istanbul. “There is a very large amount of curiosity about contemporary art there, and there is a growing support for it,” gallery co-owner Rachel Lehmann told Artinfo at the time. The same could certainly also be said of wealthy Singapore.
