Lehmann Maupin is pleased to announce its inaugural presentation for the Abu Dhabi Art Fair. At the fair, the gallery (Booth S01) will feature new and recent works by artists including Lee Bul, Mandy El-Sayegh, Shirazeh Houshiary, Mr., Lari Pittman, Robin Rhode, Nari Ward, and Liu Wei. This presentation exemplifies Lehmann Maupin's commitment to promoting diverse, international artists, with an emphasis on artists who push the boundaries of their chosen material, or whose practices transcend a single medium.
Additionally, the gallery has commissioned a new work by Liu Wei for the fair’s New Horizons: China sector. The Chinese artist has created a new sculpture, based upon his Microworld exhibited in the 58th Venice Biennale: May You Live in Interesting Times. The sculpture, composed of various aluminum spheres and convex and concave shapes, reflects the artist’s long standing interest in how one’s perception is adapted and manipulated by social, environmental, technological, and personal influences.
